Some time ago we announced our partnership with Legacy, Sport & Art Management. Today we share with you the story of the co-founder of LSA the Olympic silver medalist in swimming Tünde Szabó.
— About her Olympic Silver medal:
— People often ask what I learned from finishing second. My answer is simple: sports taught me that silver is not a defeat. When the person ahead of you is the best in the world, it’s not a failure — it’s perspective.
The real question isn’t where you stand on the podium, but whether you pushed yourself to your absolute limit. This is the mindset I bring to sports management today: focus on the execution, master your own performance, and the results will follow.
— About the end of career:
— Ending an athletic career is one of the toughest decisions, but it’s also the greatest opportunity for growth. It’s crucial to recognise the moment when you need to find new goals.
For me, the transition was driven by a passion for learning and a curiosity for the world beyond the water. I’ve realised that a champion’s mindset doesn’t retire— it simply finds a new arena. This strategic approach to career evolution is exactly what I bring to sports management today.
— Tünde’s life after sport:
— When I finished my competitive career, there were no mentorship programs or structured transition systems. We had to find our own way forward.
Back then, education was my only safety net. Immersing myself in law and education provided the stable foundation I needed to thrive in the business world.
I truly believe that an athlete’s most valuable investment is self-development— beyond the field of play. Today, my work in sports management is driven by a simple mission: ensuring that today’s champions don’t have to face the “what’s next?” question alone.
— What is essential for life after sports? Education? Investments? PR?
— All of these matter, but the foundation is identity. As athletes, it’s easy to define ourselves solely by our results. But while a sporting career is finite, human value is not.
Life after the podium requires more than just financial literacy, it demands mental agility. You must be willing to find new goals, commit to lifelong learning, and accept that life has many chapters. True victory is finding who you are outside the arena.
